Celebrating the 120th Anniversary of Korean Immigration

Students of the Hwarang Youth Foundation commemorates the anniversary of Korean immigration each year, as a way of showing our appreciation and thanks to our ancestors. The date of the 120th anniversary was on October 7, 2023. Students had the opportunity to learn about the background of Korean immigrants’ development in America on this particular day.

Gathering around the stories of the past korean ancestors' generations, celebrating their accomplishments for the future generations. Educational displays were a strong impact in the historical journey while also highlighting the struggles and victories faced by the Korean minority. In an effort to create a sense of cultural awareness among the students, activities like handcrafting Korean themed windmills was one of the activities the students enjoyed. It provided an opportunity to connect with other chapter members and shared laughter amongst each other.

The Korean community feels a strong emotion of unity and gratitude. This anniversary acts as a connection between generations and cultures to celebrate the past. The 120th Anniversary of Korea Immigration serves as a legacy to the persistence of our ancestors. The left behind legacy and prosperity is still strong today, all over the world.

화랑청년재단 학생들은 매년 한인 이민 기념일을 기념하여 조상들에게 감사와 감사의 마음을 전하고 있습니다. 120주년 기념일은 2023년 10월 7일이었습니다. 이날 학생들은 한인 이민자들의 미국 내 발전 배경에 대해 배울 수 있는 기회를 가졌습니다. 과거 한국 조상 세대의 이야기를 모아 그들의 업적을 미래 세대를 위해 축하합니다. 교육적 전시는 역사 여정에 큰 영향을 미쳤으며, 동시에 소수민족이 직면한 투쟁과 승리를 강조했습니다. 학생들의 문화적 인식을 높이기 위한 노력의 일환으로 한국을 테마로 한 풍차 만들기 등의 활동은 학생들이 즐겼던 활동 중 하나였습니다. 다른 지부 회원들과 소통하고 서로 웃음을 나누는 기회를 제공했습니다. 한인사회는 화합과 감사의 강한 감정을 느끼고 있습니다. 이 기념일은 과거를 기념하기 위해 세대와 문화를 연결하는 역할을 합니다. 한국 이민 120주년은 우리 조상들의 끈기를 보여주는 유산입니다. 유산과 번영 뒤에 남겨진 세력은 오늘날에도 전 세계적으로 여전히 강세를 보이고 있습니다.
