Legal Career Seminar
After sharing a meaningful time with Hwarang members during the last Hate Crime Seminar on 7/18/23, the Korean Association hosted a Legal Career Seminar as a mentorship program for Korean teenagers. The students of the Hwarang Youth Foundation had the opportunity to listen and meet with mentors from the LA County Deputy District Attorney, US Department of Justice, LA County Counsel, CA Attorney General’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Los Angeles Police Department. Each mentor introduced their career, provided their internship opportunities, and shared their unique background and the path they took while pursuing a career in the legal and law enforcement field. They shared memorable stories of the people they met and the experiences they had throughout their career. Many participating students and Hwarang members related to the struggles the mentors touched upon as a Korean American. The Q&A session allowed students to ask questions and receive valuable insight into the legal field through the mentors’ honest reflection of the rewarding and difficult aspects of their career. We are very proud to see our Korean leaders working in the American mainstream society with perseverance and integrity. As Hwarang members, we look forward to growing up as leaders who are proud of their Korean heritage.
