ALTOS CHAPTER
We are the Altos Chapter, a passionate youth service group of high school students from Palo Alto, Mountain View, Los Altos, and surrounding areas. We plan and execute various activities based on what we have learned at school, promote the well-being and development of the local community, and at the same time, do our best to develop ourselves to become global leaders.
Every Sunday morning, we help the homeless by giving them a hot meal, daily necessities and listening to their stories. Our vision reaches globally. Aligned with the environmental movement, we collect, sort, and sell recyclables to reduce waste and support those in need. Also, partnering with Hwarang's Global Links, we offer online English tutoring to Stanford's international student families. This program showcases how Korean-American youth aids diverse families in adapting and integrating into a new community. Lastly, We're launching a new activity in September 2023 to help local libraries sell used books to help citizens grow intellectually.
Altos Chapter students consistently organize diverse volunteer efforts like senior center visits and tree planting in less developed regions, fostering personal growth and global leadership through ongoing member discussions. Let’s unite for meaningful change.
Altos Chapter Officers
Hello, I'm Eunjoon Hong, and I am honored to lead as the Altos Chapter President. My passion is helping those in need through diverse activities.
With Hwarang, I've taught English and programming, from Scratch to Python and drone coding, to people of all ages. My commitment goes beyond teaching. I've served the homeless, joined Salvation Army events, planted trees in underserved areas, and engaged in uplifting communities.
As a leader, I prioritize personal growth and leadership in our members. I aim to empower them for impactful engagement and curate diverse initiatives per our mission. Thank you for joining our collective effort.
Let's make a lasting impact together.
