DUBLIN CHAPTER
Welcome to the Dublin Chapter, proudly representing as a chapter of the Hwarang Silicon Valley District. The city of Dublin is located in the Bay Area of California, in Amador Valley of Alameda County's Tri-Valley region. The name itself originated from Irish culture, as the symbol of the city is a clover as well. 2024, it celebrates its 42 birthday since its foundation.
In the Dublin Chapter, our volunteer activities are diversely organized in a wide array of activities. Some of the activities include Senior Center Activity Volunteer, People of Park Program, Recycling Event, and Senior Center Performance. We have been involved in numerous past and future events, in which we aspire to spread positivity to the community. We stand under a bigger branch of the Silicon Valley District.
Our members strive to volunteer through their enthusiastic and eager volunteers. We all have the same common goal: spread positivity in the community. As representatives of our community, we embody the spirit of service and embody the values of compassion, empathy, and generosity, also including the 5 loves of Hwarang. United in our mission, we stand as agents of change, driven by the conviction that the smallest gestures of kindness possess the transformative power to reverberate outward, igniting waves of joy and inspiration.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to any of the officers! We look forward to talking to new people, or even making new members.
DUBLIN CHAPTER OFFICERS
My name is Si Young Lee, the current Dublin Chapter President of term 2023-2024. I’m a current Junior at Dublin High school. I began as a member in Hwarang in my sophomore summer, progressed to the PR of Dublin Chapter, and currently I stand on my behalf as the chapter president.
During my current term of Hwarang, I’ve led many volunteer opportunities such as People Parks Program, Open Hearts Kitchen, Senior Center Activity Volunteer, Ploma Garage Sale, etc. I’ve also participated in other committees such as the business committee and Global Links for the 2nd year straight.
I’ve also been involved in the Guatemala annual trip, whereas our Hwarang volunteers and assists the doctors performing in the cataract surgery.
If you wish to know more about my experiences as a proud Hwarang member, feel free to reach out to me! I’ll be happy to tell you my commitment as a member and an officer.

Vision Festival Performance
We chose a traditional Korean dance that most Koreans are still familiar with to this day: Hot <Candy> to dance and an upbeat song by the most trending K-Pop idol currently, BTS <Permission to Dance>. We effectively contributed to the fundraiser as well as making great memories.
Our Dublin Chapter, after much contemplation, decided upon a dance performance to represent in the Annual Hwarang Vision Festival of 2024. The Vision Festival’s sole purpose is to raise funds for the Guatemala Cataract Surgery, to whom that continue to suffer from such agony
ACTIVITIES
Senior Center Activity
This event is a recurring event, in which we volunteer in the Dublin Senior Center. Our members hold conversations with the Seniors. Frequently, we play board games with them such as dominios, Scrabble, poker, etc. We continue to visit the senior center biweekly.
People Of Park Program
People of Park Program is another recurring event happening every Saturday. Throughout this event, we promote environmental sustainability by cleaning Alamo Creek Park. We pick up trash on the side of the trails, grass, and even on the shores of rivers. Through this event, we aspire to foster a sense of responsibility for our surroundings while also establishing a stronger sense of community.
Recycle Event
Our members gather together monthly after collecting recyclables. We collect cans, water bottles, and glass. We collectively donate the recyclables, receiving a fund in return. These donations are dedicated to the Guatemala cataract surgery.
Senior Center Performance
In our chapter, we had multiple members with musical talent on various instruments. Therefore, we organized an orchestra as a purpose to ultimately entertain the seniors in the senior center. We rehearsed many pieces such as Magic Castle, Secret Garden, My Heart Will Go On, , and many pieces.
