The 50th LA Korean Festival (Jang-tuh & Hwarang Booth)
The 50th LA Korean Festival was an event hosted at the Seoul International Park featuring a multitude of performers. As volunteers for the events that took place there, we cleaned the streets prior to the events in order for the streets to be clean and for vendors to come set up shop. We helped answer any questions about the Korean festival and directions for where to go. There were especially many questions on who was performing on that day. We also helped promote and try to recruit members for Hwarang. It was somewhat challenging as it was a huge space trying to get from one place to another especially with the enormous crowd everywhere.Especially with the addition of a broken walkie talkie communication from one section to another and trying to communicate with the event organizer was difficult. Nonetheless everyone within Hwarang powered through helping as many people as possible while also watching the performance run smoothly making sure there will be no technical issues. Overall, it was a fun and interesting event that allowed people to develop the social skills needed to help answer questions/inquiries if need be. Some of us also got to see the performances being performed by a multitude of Korean talents, each one being unique yet beautiful in its own way. (By: Hayden Choi President of Crescent Chapter)
